Patient News Publishing Strengthens Environmental Commitment
From Zero Footprint To Positive Footprint!

Haliburton, Ontario

January 26, 2010 – Patient News Publishing, named one of Canada's Top 100 Employers for four consecutive years and North America's leading dental marketing company, makes a further positive environmental impact by working in partnership with the Haliburton Highlands Stewardship Council, supported by the Ministry of Natural Resources Ontario Stewardship Program, with more than 4,000 trees to be planted in 2010! These trees will also be pledged to the United Nations 2010 Billion Tree Campaign.

Patient News Publishing, committed to making the smallest possible footprint, has already made significant investments to improve its environmental performance and continues to pursue further sustainable practices. They are Forest Stewardship Council accredited, and 100% of the paper they use is certified to ensure forestry is practiced in an environmentally responsible way.

"Even though we print exclusively on FSC-certified products, we have taken our environmental commitment one step further by engaging in this reforestation program. It's one more effort to 'give back more than we take' – from zero footprint to positive footprint! It's not just about protection, it's about developing our natural resources for future generations", says Karen Galley, President.

Patient News Publishing is also a staunch supporter of internal green initiatives, backing their employee-driven committee who provide ongoing staff education to reduce, recycle, and re-use, and conduct ongoing research into how the company and its employees can become more energy efficient. Patient News Publishing has been recognized for two consecutive years by PrintAction for Most Environmentally Progressive Printer, and by WhatTheyThink.com with an Environmental Innovation Award!

Sustainable environmental business practices is one of their unwavering core values. "It was a natural fit for our company, product, and service offering and was adopted whole heartedly by our enthusiastic and committed green team at Patient News and by the staff in general", says Galley.
