Profiles In Newsletter Success
Dr. Joseph Whitehouse, Castro Valley, California

Please describe the goals of your newsletter program to our readers. Patients of record are the best source of quality referrals. The newsletter reminds them of the benefits our office provides them and provides a reminder for referring their friends and relatives.
It is known that people often need to see information multiple times before they make a decision to buy something. That applies to discretionary dentistry such as Invisalign® and cosmetic services. Since I do not always have time to talk about our new technology with everyone, the newsletter can do that.

How does PNP facilitate your programs to help you achieve your goals? PNP has more resources that I would have ever imagined … and stays on top of new developments. Therefore, I am never without a way to communicate what I want to. I have the newsletter posted on my website.

What type of information do you feel dental practices should include in their newsletter to attract readers’ attention? What have you found most successful? The most obvious has been the $50 credit for the referral source and the patient through the Referral Card option. I think that the whole practice needs to be in sync with the newsletter mirroring that.
How would you recommend getting staff involved in promoting the newsletter? New patients come to mind here. The team can give that person one of our newsletter office copies on their first visit, and ask them to look forward to receiving them periodically.

Having worked with Patient News Publishing, what are your general impressions about the company and their staff? Every time I have interacted with PNP, it has been very professional. Each issue I have encountered that needed a response was taken care of well. The flexibility the process offers is also appreciated.

Do you have any other comments about your newsletter program that you would like to share with our readers? Staying in touch with clients is not new. Many organizations do it. PNP allows me to do that quarterly in a very professional way. It has been an asset to the practice. Patients have given favorable comments.
